Dr. Joseph Nissenfeld, MD is a highly regarded psychiatrist with specialized expertise in addiction psychiatry and a distinguished record of helping individuals achieve lasting recovery. He earned his B.A. from Yeshiva University and his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, before completing his psychiatry residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine.
With over 12 years of experience at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, Dr. Nissenfeld has provided exemplary direct patient care while also taking on key leadership and administrative roles in one of the nation’s most dynamic medical settings. In addition, he serves as Medical Director for Achieve Behavioral Health, overseeing five locations and shaping clinical standards of care.
Dr. Nissenfeld brings both clinical excellence and visionary leadership to his work, combining evidence-based practice with a deep commitment to patient-centered recovery.

Rebecca is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 12 years of experience, specializing in guiding individuals through the challenges of substance use disorders. Driven by empathy and a passion for mental health, she creates a compassionate space that fosters healing and growth. Committed to developing innovative programs, she empowers clients on their recovery journey and promotes holistic well-being. Her dedication to transformative practices ensures that each individual feels supported and valued in their therapeutic process.
In her free time, Rebecca can be found walking her dog around Brooklyn, exploring new coffee shops and in the warmer months, surfing or swimming at the beach. She is an avid reader and loves yoga and running.

Kristen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor – Master Level (CASAC-M). Kristen has 8 years of experience in various clinical settings providing compassionate care to clients battling a wide range of substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses. Kristen is committed to building strong therapeutic relationships and supporting clients in achieving their treatment goals. She takes a collaborative approach and integrates a variety of evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Ella brings a unique skillset to Elevate Point, integrating the healing dimension of creativity through her training in art therapy. With an M.S. in Counseling and Art Therapy, Addictions Specialization, CASAC-T, ATR-P she applies a trauma-informed, holistic approach across diverse populations, including women and children impacted by domestic violence, adults in addiction treatment, and adolescents who have experienced complex trauma. Ella’s work emphasizes empowerment, healing, and self-expression, helping clients access and process difficult experiences through creative engagement. She is passionate about fostering recovery, resilience, and growth as a valued member of the Elevate Point team.

Charlotte is a Recovery Coach and Yoga Teacher in long-term recovery. She supports clients through lived experience, peer connection, and somatic practices. She believes in meeting people where they are and helping them find their own path forward. Outside of work, she loves thrifting, playing with her cat Miss Fantasy, and exploring creative projects.

Samantha Slager, MFT, transitioned from a decade-long career as an entrepreneur to pursue her passion for mental health, completing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University. She blends clinical training with real-world experience to help clients understand their patterns, relationships, and beliefs, empowering meaningful change with clarity, authenticity, and a touch of humor. Outside the therapy room, Samantha enjoys working out, skiing, tennis, exploring the outdoors, and immersing herself in art and culture.
